Kinleith is our largest mill, producing over 600,000 tonnes per annum of packaging papers and bleached softwood kraft market pulp. Most of our pulp is exported to markets in Asia for use in the manufacture of printing and writing paper, boards and tissue. Kinleith is well known for its range of high strength visual appeal kraft linerboards and medium used in the manufacture of corrugated cases.
The Tasman mill has a capacity of about 300,000 tonnes of bleached and unbleached kraft market pulp used by manufacturers of high quality paper, tissue and building products. Tasman's fibre cement pulp is acknowledged in the fibre-cement building products industry as the worlds premium cellulose reinforcing fibre.
In producing pulp and paper our Kinleith and Tasman mills also manufacture a range of chemicals including hydrochloric acid, liquid chlorine for municipal water treatment and sodium hypochlorite, typically used in swimming pools and household bleach.
The kraft fibre for Oji Fibre Solutions pulp and containerboard products is sourced primarily from plantation softwood radiata pine. The Kinleith and Tasman mills are strategically located in New Zealands largest forest region.
The Kinleith and Tasman mills both hold Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) chain of custody certification and are certified as a FSC® Mix Credit supplier. “Our wood fibre is sourced from FSC certified forests and other controlled sources.
At our Penrose mill we manufacture 85,000 tonnes of recycled medium and liner from secondary (or recycled) fibre from our Fullcircle recycling business. As with our Kinleith containerboard, Penrose products are used in the manufacture of corrugated cases.
